Self-defense courses in Carinthia

The self-safety training “Capless” (Cap less = without a cap) was developed and founded by the Carinthian police officer Patrick Jaritz. “Capless means that every person can be who they are and no one has to change or bend themselves for another person. Our children grow up in a way that is often influenced by others through media and social networks. So they are rarely themselves, very often play a role and are therefore sometimes not able to be self-confident. We want to change that with our self-defense courses,” says Jaritz, who offers his courses in Carinthia.

How are the self-defense courses structured?

The "Capless" self-confidence training is based on three pillars: movement, communication and self-defense. "Our self-defense courses aim to strengthen coordination and concentration. Teamwork skills, social skills and willingness to cooperate are also promoted. In communication training, we teach students self-esteem and self-confidence using non-violent and solution-oriented communication techniques. The basis of our self-defense courses is traditional Tae Kwon Do. This martial art promotes concentration to a great extent through its many twisting and crossing movements," says the expert, adding: "In addition, alternative self-defense methods such as 'alarm bracelets' or pepper spray are repeatedly tested in our self-defense courses and their use is practiced."
