Frequently Asked Questions

What is a personal alarm – and what is it for?

The personal alarm is a compact safety companion for on the go – e.g. on your way home, while jogging, traveling or if you simply feel uneasy in dark alleys, parking garages or public transport.

It's very simple: pull the ring → the alarm starts immediately with 130 dB and flashing light to attract attention and deter.

Reinsert the pull ring into the device → stop the alarm and flashing.

Yes – that's exactly what many people use these alarms for: A sudden, extremely loud sound and flashing light can startle dogs (e.g., if a dog is running towards you off-leash) and simultaneously alert people nearby if someone is getting too close. Important: It's not a miracle cure – but it can give you the crucial moment to create distance and get help.

130 dB is very loud – that's precisely the point: to force attention and disorient attackers (or other threats). If possible, don't hold the alarm directly to your ear and instead position it away from your body (e.g., by extending your arm).

If the alarm is not deactivated, it will remain active for one hour.

Via USB-C (Type-C). A blue light illuminates during charging. The blue light turns off when the battery is fully charged.

When the voltage drops to approximately 3V, a red LED will flash as a clear warning that you should recharge soon.

Less likely to happen than with button alarms because you have to actively pull the ring. Tip: If you carry it in your pocket, position it so the ring doesn't constantly get caught – or attach it to your keyring/inner clip.

The best way to carry your personal alarm is so you can grab it in seconds – because in an emergency, every movement counts. It's especially practical on your keychain, since you'll often already have it in your hand on your way home. It's also useful on the outside of your bag or backpack, as long as it remains easily accessible and doesn't get lost at the bottom. Alternatively, a jacket pocket is suitable, provided you can quickly reach in without having to search for it.

Yes – the alarm is designed precisely for such situations: It should be noticeable even in noisy environments and alert people nearby. (The exact range naturally depends on the surroundings, wind, buildings, and distance.)
