The Anela emergency watch is a slim emergency wristwatch for seniors that automatically organizes help in an emergency – at the touch of a button or automatically in the event of a fall. This allows older people to remain independent for longer, whether at home, on a walk, or while traveling.
The Anela Emergency Watch (Model name: Anela Emergency Watch Model 1.0) is a compact wristwatch with built-in safety features, developed by a health-tech team from Innsbruck specifically for the Austrian and German markets. The product's goal: to enable elderly people to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible, without being left alone in an emergency.
If the device detects a fall, a 30-second time window begins. If no one responds, the watch automatically contacts the saved emergency contacts one after the other. An accidental alarm can easily be stopped during this time. Manual activation works the same way: the control button must be pressed and held for approximately three seconds. Since the microphone, speaker, and SIM card are integrated directly into the casing, a voice connection is established immediately in both cases.
Visually, the Anela emergency watch is barely distinguishable from an ordinary wristwatch – a conspicuous red emergency button is deliberately omitted, which significantly increases its acceptance in everyday life. It can be worn practically continuously: while sleeping, during sports, in the shower, and also while traveling in 31 European countries.
The Anela emergency watch belongs to our categories Health watch for seniors without a smartphone and Watch with fall detectionDiscover more modern safety watches with GPS tracking, automatic fall detection, SOS emergency call and telephone function – for greater safety in everyday life, at home and on the go.

An emergency call watch is a wristwatch with built-in safety features that automatically calls for help in an emergency, or can be activated with the push of a button. An integrated telephone function allows the wearer to speak with relatives or an emergency call center in a critical situation, enabling rapid assistance to be organized. The Anela emergency watch is one example of such a watch, specifically designed for seniors.
Delivery typically takes 2 to 3 business days after order completion. After entering emergency contacts and personal settings in the online account, the watch is ready for use within minutes.
All personal settings – such as emergency contacts – are configured exclusively in your online account. The data is then automatically transferred to the watch via mobile network, without the need for an additional app installation or cable connection.
Only the Premium Care subscription fully activates the emergency call function, as this covers mobile network connectivity, system integration, call management, the online account, and support. Without an active plan, the integrated SIM card remains unused.
The watch is splash-proof and can therefore be worn without any problems while showering or washing hands. However, bathing or swimming with the watch is not recommended.
The Anela emergency watch was specifically developed for German-speaking countries and is therefore recommended for use in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The user interface, voice output, and instructions are available exclusively in German.
Thanks to its integrated 4G connectivity, the watch can be used throughout Europe. It automatically connects to the available mobile network and therefore also works when traveling or during extended stays abroad.
Please note that the watch cannot currently be switched to other languages. For comfortable use, we therefore recommend that the wearer understands German and can easily use the German-language interface.
Worn on the wrist in everyday life, during sports or while traveling, the Anela emergency watch is hardly noticeable thanks to its discreet design.
A fall is automatically detected. Anyone who is conscious can also trigger the emergency call themselves by pressing the control button for approximately three seconds.
If no one responds within 30 seconds, the watch automatically selects the saved contacts and transmits the current GPS location.
Family, friends or neighbors take over the coordination – the Anela emergency watch deliberately follows the Friends & Family principle instead of an external control center.
For the emergency call function of the Anela emergency watch to work, a current mobile plan is required in addition to the watch itself – the anela Premium Care package. This includes, among other things, a mobile connection with Europe-wide coverage, integration with background systems, call management including voicemail protection, an online account for managing the watch, and support in German.

The connection automatically selects the strongest available 4G network – regardless of the provider – and is valid in all 27 EU member states as well as Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom, and Norway. Tariff charges become due 30 days after order placement. This ensures the Anela emergency watch remains reliably reachable even abroad.
The SIM card and/or the selected plan are not activated upon ordering, but only after you receive your Anela emergency watch. As soon as your watch has been shipped, you will receive an activation link from us via email. You can then use this link to activate the SIM card and your chosen plan yourself in just a few steps.
You can flexibly choose whether billing should be monthly or annually. The tariff costs are only due 30 days after activation or receipt of the watch.
This gives you ample time to set up and test the watch before incurring any tariff costs.
All the advantages of our emergency call watch at a glance – from fall detection to German-speaking support.
A permanently installed SIM card with its own mobile tariff allows you to talk to stored contacts at any time – without a smartphone nearby.
An integrated sensor automatically detects falls. After 30 seconds, the stored emergency contacts are notified; a false alarm can be stopped at the touch of a button.
A single, easily accessible button is all it takes: a short press opens the menu, holding it for three seconds immediately triggers an emergency call.
Optional sensors can record pulse, step count, body temperature and oxygen saturation – viewable in the online customer account.
Automatic network selection connects the watch to the strongest available 4G network across Europe – regardless of the provider.
The information can be provided to freely chosen trusted persons and relatives – there is deliberately no connection to a professional rescue service.
Up to six emergency contacts can be stored in the customer account. In an emergency, they will be called one after the other until someone answers.
Four additional phone numbers can be saved. They will not be contacted automatically in an emergency, but are always available for active calls.
The location is only transmitted at the moment an emergency call is triggered – no continuous monitoring takes place.
A powerful 900 mAh battery provides 3 to 4 days of runtime depending on usage – significantly longer than most smartphones.
Menu navigation, display indicators and spoken prompts such as "Fall detected" were specifically developed for the German-speaking market.
A charging station specifically designed for older users makes charging particularly easy.
All settings and personal information are managed online – changes are visible on the watch within minutes.
The watch is splash-proof, so it can generally be worn while showering. However, we advise against bathing or swimming with it.
As a HealthTech company based in Innsbruck, we are happy to provide support in German via our support hotline.
An emergency call directly from the wrist: In an emergency, a simple press of a button on the Anela emergency watch is all it takes to speak to relatives or stored contacts.
From the outside, the watch looks like an ordinary accessory – without any visible alarm button. This makes it more acceptable in the everyday lives of older people.
Unlike a classic home emergency call system, the protection offered by the Anela emergency watch remains in place even outside the home, for example while shopping or taking a walk.
If an emergency is triggered, the location of the wearer can be precisely determined – important for relatives and helpers.
Whether during sports, showering, sleeping or traveling within 31 countries – the Anela emergency watch remains ready for use at all times.
