Keychain with alarm
Key rings with alarm functions are particularly popular with women. But what is the advantage of such key fobs with an alarm function? Are there also disadvantages?
The biggest advantage is clearly that you always have your key ring with you. It would just be stupid, and here we are at one of the very few disadvantages, if the key ring was at the bottom of your handbag. The key ring therefore belongs in your coat or jacket pocket.
Better than a key fob with an alarm
The noise level usually reaches at least 120 decibels with the alarm function. Depending on your neighborhood, this may not attract much attention, but it is guaranteed to scare a perpetrator.
In addition to the simple alarm function, models are also available that simulate a woman's screams when an alarm occurs - all at 130 decibels. There are also simple sirens with 130 decibels, but women screaming at this volume is something special. Most trailers work at the push of a button.
Also very original is a shrill alarm that goes off when you pull on a chain. As long as the chain is not reattached, the shrill alarm cannot be turned off! The ultimate piece for perpetrators who think all you have to do is press a button to turn off the alarm. You clearly thought wrong about this model!
Another variant works with a kind of plug. If you pull it out, the alarm goes off. You then have to plug the shutter back in to turn off the alarm.
A jet aircraft at a distance of 30 meters produces a noise level of 140 decibels. People feel pain at a limit of 130 decibels. The latter is related to the individual's sensitivity to noise and can vary. At 120 decibels, most people experience severe discomfort. Incidentally, a chainsaw at a distance of one meter only reaches a mere 110 decibels - significantly less for all key fobs with an alarm function. For comparison: in a disco you can “only” reach 100 decibels at a distance of one meter from the loudspeaker.
In short, whether it's an alarm, a shrill alarm or a woman screaming, it's guaranteed to scare everyone away and of course attract attention. Perhaps there is a tiny disadvantage here: of course you have to endure the noise level yourself, in some models until you have turned off the alarm function yourself using a plug or chain.
Many key fobs with an alarm function also have small LEAD lamps, so you can quickly find the keyhole on your front door even in the dark. You can also tell from the lamp when the battery is running low. If the light from the lamp decreases, the battery should be replaced.
All trailers are suitable for people who simply want to feel a little safer. Such mini alarms are useful not only for women, but also for seniors. All alarm pendants are a better alternative to pepper spray, for example. Pepper sprays in particular do not work in headwinds; on the contrary, they can cause additional harm to the victim. The alarm functions not only scare perpetrators away, animals will also run away from the alarm.
For seniors, it is certainly an additional alternative to calling for help, even in impersonal apartment buildings, as everyone becomes aware of the noise.
Almost all key rings can also be used as a fashion accessory. There is something for every taste. From simple, straightforward and simply functional, to true small works of art - of course also in all possible colors.
