Homemade emergency bracelet for children – the ID bracelet
Homemade emergency bracelet for children – it’s that easy
As much as we would like to protect our little ones around the clock and be with them, we have to accept that the children will have a life without us adults when they start kindergarten or elsewhere. Even in kindergarten, at school, on trips with friends or other leisure activities with other groups, the kiddies are often alone. Of course, this shouldn't worry us, but to have a clear conscience if the children do get lost, an emergency bracelet can be very helpful and reassuring.
Emergency bracelet children:
One "ID bracelet", which looks good, which children always wear, but also has a telephone number and/or the child's name on it is perfect for this. This means that parents can always be reached and the children don't have to remember anything and are not exposed to so much stress if they get lost in the city or somewhere else. And the best thing about such an emergency bracelet for children is that they can make it themselves very easily. Find out how here:
Here is a short explanatory video for the emergency bracelet or ID bracelet for children:
What do you need for this? Simply a little woven ribbon, bias binding, light fabric for embroidery, suitable (preferably dark) thread, snap fasteners and possibly a pair of pliers for the snap fasteners - and you're ready to go.
In the first step, you should measure your child's wrist and allow about 2 to 4 centimeters more so that you still have enough material for the snap fasteners later. Then you have to measure and cut the desired ribbons. Then you can put them together to make it last longer and to see whether the patterns fit and you like. It is important that you wrap the woven ribbon inside the bias tape before putting it together. Once that's done, you can embroider the white fabric with a telephone number, name, address and other decorations as you wish. However, the light-colored fabric should not be longer or wider than the woven ribbon; it is best to leave a few mm free everywhere. Once you've finished embroidering, put it together with the bracelet and start sewing everything together at the edge of the white fabric. Last but not least, when everything is sewn together, use the pliers to make two holes for the snaps on the edge and the cute safety bracelet is ready.
It's that easy - make your own emergency bracelet for children! Have fun working.
