The emergency call bracelet for seniors as a lifesaver - the alarm bracelet

The emergency call bracelet for seniors is for people who need support at home or who feel safer when traveling alone. Here is a report from a pensioner:

“Those were the worst 36 hours of my life. I was lying on the floor of my apartment, couldn't get up and no one came to help me," remembers Rita through tears. The 70-year-old pensioner experienced every old person's nightmare. She fell over the living room carpet in her small apartment and was unable to get up. “In the morning I spoke to my daughter on the phone. As I hung up the phone and went to the kitchen to grab a sandwich, I stumbled on the colorful carpet. I have water in my legs and just had knee surgery. I found it difficult to walk. I tried to pull myself up on the coffee table, but I slipped again and fell on my bad knee. The pain was almost unbearable. I screamed for help, but no one heard me,” recalls the shocked senior citizen. She also couldn't get to her cell phone, which she had left on the bookshelf. The hours passed and the pensioner became weaker and weaker.
“I was whining like a dog, I was thirsty and hungry and I also urgently needed to go to the toilet. I had no choice but to wet my pants. I was so embarrassed.” The pensioner lay on the floor all night long. “In the morning my cell phone rang again. I knew it was my daughter and hoped that I would be saved soon. She called every half hour, but of course couldn’t reach me,” said the 70-year-old. In the evening the pensioner was finally released from her torment. “I heard the apartment key turning – thank God I had removed the key – and my daughter called my name. When she saw me lying there on the ground, tears welled up in her eyes. She picked me up and immediately took me to a hospital.”

The emergency call bracelet for seniors can save lives

Older people are the number one accident risk group in Austria. More than 148.000 people over 65 have accidents every year. Despite the availability of cell phones that allow for quick assistance, it can be difficult, especially for older people, to reach a phone in an emergency.

For frail and alone people, a call aid in the form of a senior emergency call bracelet is a sensible measure. The user always carries this easy-to-use bracelet with them. In an emergency, all you need to do is press a button to trigger an alarm in the provider's emergency call center. Not only is an alarm signaled, but the name and address of the person affected are also displayed. The rescue control center can then contact you to clarify whether help is needed or whether it is an accidental alarm. If it is a real emergency, an emergency vehicle will be dispatched immediately.

Since her terrible experience, pensioner Rita has constantly worn the emergency bracelet on her arm. “I never want to experience this horror trip again,” she explains.
